Serving Those in Need - U.S. East-West Province
We stand with those made poor in a world of growing division. We witness the diminishing value of human life, the destruction of our earth, and rising intolerance toward those who are different, poor, or abandoned.
Called to be women of justice and peace, we commit to transforming unjust systems and fostering relationships that reflect God’s goodness for all creation.
This moment in history demands contemplative listening, ongoing dialogue and critical social analysis that moves us to action.

Education is—and has always been—the focus of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur mission. St. Julie established schools to help prepare children from impoverished backgrounds for their roles in life. She saw education for everyone as a basic human right, and teaching as the “greatest work on earth.”

We stand in solidarity with those made poor in an increasingly divided world. We witness the devaluation of human life, the destruction of our planet, and the growing intolerance toward those who are marginalized, impoverished, or abandoned.
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur hold Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status at the United Nations, allowing them to contribute to global discussions, share expertise and influence policymaking.
Our Statements
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur foster connection and unity through verbal and non-verbal communication, building and strengthening relationships across cultures and continents. Collaborating with our Associates, Notre Dame Mission Volunteers, Co-workers and Partners in Mission, we are committed to standing with those made poor by the unjust structures of society.
